Guns & Combat Guide

Bridger: WESTERN implements a brutal limb-and-headshot damage model. Revolvers are your heavy hitters, rifles keep distance, and shotguns dominate tight spaces. Once you reach Tier 3, you can equip a Primary and Secondary weapon simultaneously.

PvP Gun Combinations

The best loadouts in Bridger: WESTERN pair a high-power opener with a reliable sustained-fire cleanup weapon.

Russian Roulette + Tommy Gun

The Meta Ragdoll Combo

Lead with the Russian Roulette (70 Head dmg, forces instant ragdoll), then swap immediately to the Tommy Gun (45 rounds) to eliminate them before they can stand back up. Unbeatable in 1v1 duels.

Colt Ocelot + Hunters Choice

Aggressive Close-Range Wipe

Use the Colt Ocelot (ricocheting bullets, 38 Head dmg) to tag the enemy. Slide or combat roll (boosted by Free Runner card) into close quarters, and blast with the Hunters Choice shotgun for a combined 15+ damage hit.

Ammunition & Tactical Reloading

All standard ammo packs contain 10 rounds. Always resupply at the General Store. If you run out of ammo during an Outlaw faction raid, your only defense is CQC fist combat unless you possess a JoJo Stand.

Pro-Tip: Pressing R to reload leaves you highly vulnerable. High-level players frequently fake a reload to bait aggressive pushes from enemies, then cancel the animation with a quick dodge (Q) to punish their advance.

Explosives & Sustain

🧨 Area Denial

Dynamite: Essential for bursting down defensive supernatural abilities or trapping narrow choke points. Can be dropped while fleeing on horseback.

Molotovs: Creates lingering fire hazards that flush entrenched enemies out of cover.

🧪 Medicinal Sustenance

Tonics: Provide mid-fight healing. Managing when to duck behind cover and consume a tonic is what separates veteran survivors from freshies. (Best paired with the Tonic Master card).

The Melee Posture System

When bullets are depleted or an enemy closes the gap, combat transitions into a highly tactical melee engagement. By pressing C, you equip your fists and unlock the Posture System.

Blocking (F)

You can only block when fists are actively equipped. Blocking mitigates damage but drains your Posture meter.

Posture Breaks

Sustained pressure from enemy Railgun abilities or melee strikes will eventually Shatter your posture. This leaves you completely paralyzed, rendering you defenseless to execution-style combinations.

Evasion

High-level players drop their block to dash (Q) instead of absorbing damage directly to the posture bar to avoid being broken.
